analytica | Dr.-Ing. Felix Lenk "What does digitisation mean for laboratory planners?"
“For the laboratory planner, digitisation actually means that he needs a completely new way of thinking. Traditionally, a laboratory is a fixed facility, like when you buy a fitted kitchen. It is set up for a usage period of up to 30 years. Common projects in the chemical, analytical laboratory, in the development laboratory, are often only created for up to 3 years. This means, you can only look a little into the future and see what the requirements are. You have to meet exactly these requirements. So, you need a flexible laboratory: modules that can be grouped together into new work processes again and again, devices that are functionally integrated there and, in the end, easy to use.”
