Our Responsibility: Taking a Stance and Commitment to the Common Good

We at Messe München believe that entrepreneurial success and responsible action are not mutually exclusive. Strengthening the common good and the local economy, promoting environmental and climate protection, and the transfer of knowledge at our locations worldwide—that is a matter close to our hearts. Our objective in everything we do is to inspire imitation and participation.

Messe München as one of the leading international trade fair organizers has great presence and impact worldwide. More than others, we are committed to sustainability—in our actions and at our exhibition venue

Our Social Responsibility

Commitment in the Interests of Shareholders and Citizens

Strengthening the business location, enhancing the common good—these are the shareholders’ core missions assigned to Messe München. Our shareholders are the Free State of Bavaria, the City of Munich, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber of Crafts for Munich and Upper Bavaria—this means our company literally belongs to the citizens of Munich and the Free State of Bavaria.

We take the trust placed in us by the citizens and the Free State very seriously, and make sure to manage our company, Messe München, in exemplary fashion. This claim is evident in the light of our various corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities:

When tens of thousands of refugees arrived in Munich in September 2015, we provided the people with sleeping space in our exhibition halls at short notice. A total of 17,000 refugees could be accommodated within two weeks.

However, we also take responsibility for social initiatives. For example, we sponsor the cross-industry network “Connect Women” for women in management positions.

We help where we can help.
